Reviving the Spirit

Of Community Broadcasting

Building the Future of Community Media in Central Oregon

Rogue Country TV, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is proud to be building the Cascadia Community TV Network — a new hub for media education, storytelling, and creative training in Central Oregon.

We’re rekindling the spirit of community television through our Training & Mentorship Program, where emerging creators gain hands-on experience in broadcasting, production, and storytelling.

Join us as we cultivate a new generation of storytellers — people empowered to share their authentic voices, explore fresh ideas, and celebrate the culture that defines Oregon’s High Desert.

At Rogue Country, we believe in the power of local stories and the impact of authentic perspectives. Together, we’re creating Cascadia TV — a community network for Bend and beyond that honors the grassroots legacy of public media while embracing innovation and diversity.

Let’s redefine the landscape of local broadcasting and keep creativity thriving across the Pacific Northwest — one story at a time.

What You’ll Host

We produce a mix of studio, field, and live music programming. New hosts can step into one (or more) of these roles:

  • Country Roots (Weekly, 2 hours): On‑set co‑host, artist interviews, live room intros.

  • Café Americana (Weekly, 2 hours): Story‑first interviews, songwriter spotlights, cultural segments.

  • Top Ten Video Countdown (Weekly): Countdown presenter, short artist facts, fan shoutouts.

  • RC Tour Bus (On Location): Field host at festivals/venues, backstage interviews, day‑in‑the‑life pieces.

  • Road Reports: Short segments highlighting tour dates, local shows, and scene news.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A natural connector—comfortable on camera and with people.

  • Music‑savvy (roots/country/Americana a plus) with solid interviewing instincts.

  • Prepared and reliable—you meet call times and hit scripts or bullet points cleanly.

  • Community‑minded—you believe in nonprofit media and giving back.

No previous TV experience? Great. We train.

Training & Support (Included)

  • On‑camera coaching (presence, pacing, voice, teleprompter).

  • Interview craft (researching artists, framing questions, fast follow‑ups).

  • Field production basics (IFB etiquette, mic technique, shot awareness).

  • Editorial standards (nonprofit acknowledgments vs. advertising, compliance).

  • Social‑ready delivery (Reels/TikTok hooks, 15–60s hits, caption writing).

You’ll learn alongside Cascadia Community TV workshops and live field labs.

Time Commitment

  • Studio tapings: 2–4 hrs per block (typically evenings or weekends).

  • Field shoots: Varied (concert days/festivals), usually 3–6 hrs door‑to‑door in Central Oregon.

  • Prep: 30–60 minutes per assignment (rundown, artist notes, quick research).
